This method is used to determine the weight on a moisture-free basis per unit volume of wet wood chips, the bulkdensity. For purposes of reference, a standard pressure of 11 kPa (225 lb/ft) has been chosen. Of course, theprinciples of the test can be applied to the pressure of any digester or chip bin by making appropriate adjustments tothe pressure of the test.
