The choice of ceramic materials for the paper machine wet end is a difficult task given the lack of international, national, and industry standards that are relevant to paper machine performance. This TIP is intended to ntroduce and explain the important actors that should be considered when making a material choice. The characteristics of the ceramic products currently available are also discussed.
