This TIP outlines basic considerations for the application of doctors on paper, board, pulp and tissue machines with recommendations for solid, grooved, blind drilled, and suction roll types. Recommendations are presented as starting points to evaluate and install doctors on paper machines. It is recognized that all paper machines are unique, and assessment is necessary to determine doctoring requirements for most applications.
