Prepared by the American Institute of Steel Construction and the SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings, this document, AISC-420-10/SSPC-QP 3 supersedes the individual documents AISC 203-05 and SSPC-QP 3 (2006).The purpose of this Standard is to confirm to owners, the design community, and the construction industry that a Firm certified to this Standard has knowledgeable personnel and the organization, experience, procedures, and equipment to provide surface preparation and application of complex painting systems in a shop facility in accordance with contract specifications.
This Standard describes requirements for certification of firms that apply complex painting systems as defined in this Standard.
