SEVERAL TECHNOLOGIES ARE NECESSARY TO LIGHTEN ALUMINUM CAN. IN THE MATERIAL FIELD, THE NEW ALUMINUM CAN STOCK 3004-H191 HAS BEEN DEVELOPED. THE NUMERICAL SIMULATION BY COMPUTER HAS BEEN APPLIED TO OPTIMIZE BOTH THE CAN PROFILE AND CAN MANUFACTURING CONDITIONS. TWO NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS IN THE CAN MANUFACTURING PROCESS ARE DEMONSTRATED. IN THE NECKED-IN PROCESS, THE NECKING LOAD IS REDUCED TO 85% OF THE CONVENTIONAL LOAD BY OPTIMUM DIE PROFILE. IN THE SCORING PROCESS ON CAN END, THE OPTIMUM PROFILE AND SURFACE CONDITION OF THE DIE ARE CLARIFIED TO HAVE BETTER CONDITION OF THE SCORE.
