Full Description

A finite element analysis of chip formation in the machining of unidirectional fiber reinforced plastics (FRP)s with orthogonal cutting tools was conducted. A dual fracture model comprised of two distinct modes of material failure was adopted to simulate the discontinuous chip formation process.
