A MODIFICATION TO THIS TYPE OF ALGORITHM THAT RUNS IN REAL-TIME ON STANDARD COMPUTING HARDWARE AND PRODUCES REMARKABLY ACCURATE TIME-TO-CONTACT CALCULATIONS IS DESCRIBED. PERFORMANCE ON STANDARD DESKTOP PERSONAL COMPUTERS IS ALSO DISCUSSED.
