1.1This test method covers the determination of specific viscosity of tars and their fluid products. It does not determine absolute viscosity, but is an empirical flow test. Only by conforming strictly to requirements of the test method are reproducible results obtained.

1.2The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.
