Description / Abstract: This standard shall refer to the efficacy testing method against house dust mites of fibre products with a chemical or physical treatment.

For chemical treatments against house dust mite, two testing methods, efficacy of repellent rate and proliferation inhibition (rate of suppression of house dust mite reproduction) are specified.

With regard to fibre products that claim or wish to claim to have efficiency of repellency properties or suppression effect of house dust mite reproduction against house dust mite properties, the test (8.1 or 8.2) should be applied.

In regard to fibre products that claim or wish to claim to have properties that physically prevent the passing through of house dust mite, the test (8.3) should be applied.
