ISO DIS 8601-2

Description / Abstract: International Standard 8601 is applicable whenever representation of dates in the Gregorian calendar, times in the 24-hour timekeeping system, time intervals, or recurring time intervals are included in information interchange. It has two parts. Part 1 is ISO 8601-1:2016. This standard, Part 2, extends Part 1 It includes:

— uncertain or approximate dates, or dates with portions unspecified ;

— extended time intervals ;

— divisions of a year ;

— sets and choices of calendar dates ;

— repeat rules for recurring time intervals.

This International Standard does not assign any particular meaning or interpretation to any data element that uses representations in accordance with this International Standard. Such meaning will be determined by the context of the application.
