Description / Abstract:
This standard specifies the different methods intended for
assessing the radon diffusion coefficient in waterproofing
materials such as bitumen or polymeric membranes, coatings or
paints, as well as assumptions and boundary conditions that shall
be met during the test.
The test methods described in this standard allows estimating
the radon diffusion coefficient in the range of 10-8 to
10-12 m2/s with an associated uncertainty from 10 to 40
%.
This standard is not applicable for porous materials, where
radon diffusion depends on porosity and moisture content.
