NFPA 654: Examples of industries that handle combustible particulate solids, either as a process material or as a fugitive or nuisance dust, include but are not limited to the following:Agricultural, chemical, and food commodities, fibers, and textile materialsForest and furniture products industriesMetals processingPaper productsPharmaceuticalsResource recovery operations (tires, municipal solid waste, metal, paper, or plastic recycling operations)Wood, metal, or plastic fabricatorsThis standard provides requirements for all phases of the manufacturing, processing, blending, conveying, repackaging, and handling of combustible particulate solids or hybrid mixtures, regardless of concentration or particle size, where the materials present a fire, a flash fire, or an explosion hazard.The owner/operator shall be responsible for implementing the requirements in this standard.
